Saif talks cheating, divorce and relationships with GQ!

Bebo’s better half is featured on the May issue of Gentlemen’s Quarterly looking uber edgy. We laav the cover, it really suits the “ex” playaaaah.

Check out tidbits of the interview which consits of Saif Ali Khan giving advice on everything to do with the lucky lady in your life:

She has to know that she can argue and shout, but that there are certain rules. She has to know that you’re not her chamcha and that you can say no, but that as long as she’s not wrong, you will give her the moon. You have to play the role of father, brother and lover all rolled into one.

- The role a man has to play in a relationship.

My advice would be to split before she cuts your dick off in your sleep. You’d never believe that this is the same girl who once looked at you with so much love.

- What a man should do if he’s caught cheating.

Divorce is much easier without kids, but even then, you should make every effort to ensure your marriage works. But it’s not the end of the world if you grow up and say, look, we can’t live together. At some point, you need to take control of your life and not be dictated to by society.

- His views on having a divorce.

Every resource should be shared equally. I don’t mean things should be split 50-50, but everything is connected emotionally. Many people feel that a man should run the house, but there’s nothing wrong with a woman contributing. Sharing finances bonds us as partners, and it’s an important step in developing trust.

-Allocating resources between partners.

I’m a bit whipped, so I delete every text message I get from girls. My contact list is full of women, but I have nothing to do with them. If I get a message from one of them, I usually don’t reply. That way, they’re not really sure whether I got the message or not.

-Admitting he’s whipped by Bebo

But if your woman is just talking to her ex, and she’s a strong, intelligent girl, then it’s fine. It’s prehistoric to pretend her ex is dead, even though it suits you.

-Dealing with her ex.

You choose your partner over your mother so that, in the long run, your relationship with your mother can be respectful, smooth, loving and non-stressful. Confiding in your mother is wimpy, and will eventually backfire. Sometimes you can keep your mother in the loop, but the information has to be managed. The moment you start getting into “But she’s my mother, how can you say that?” you’re dead. You do not need to go there [laughs].

-Balancing the relationship between your Momma & your lady love.

If you’re looking to enter a long-term relationship with a woman, make sure she’s a worthy partner – that’s the only rule. You should be able to live with this person and she should be a positive influence on your life. Women can either make you or distract you till you’re lost, but it completely depends on how you deal with things.

-Knowing if you should be in a LTR.

Such a wise man, no wonder he stole our Bebo’s dil!

Adorabs!!

Barbara Mori: Suzanne is my BFF!

YouTube Preview Image

Oh that seksi accent!

Check out the Kites Mexican beauty addressing the rumours of an alleged affair with Hrithik Roshan and divulging details about her friendship with Suzanne Roshan to Anupama Chopra for NDTV.

It’s adorabs how BM says she calls Suzanne for love advice which is so legit because Mrs Roshan has HR as a husbo!!

Aishwarya spills details about the SRK feud!

Finally!

In Hello! India’s 3rd anniversary issue Aishwarya Rai Bachchan dishes the dirt on the messy situation that ex-boyfriend Salman Khan created on the set of Chalte Chalte which led to Shah Rukh Khan replacing her with ex-bff Rani Mukherjee.

Check out juicy highlights from ARB’s interview!

I have always preferred to hang out with the guys. I am not a part of the Bollywood girlie gangs. Don’t get me wrong, but I can’t see myself saying stuff like “Hey, babes… love your bag!”

- On being one of the boys

Abhishek and I fight over such trivial things… nothing major. I can’t carry a sulk for too long. After any argument, it is generally me who breaks the ice. Besides, technology has made things so much easier- what are emotions for?

- Her relationship with Jr. Bachchan

On the contrary it empowered me because that was the first time in my career, my dates were going to be decided by the leading hero. Vinod (Chopra) and Raju (Hirani) are testimony to this. When SRK decided he was not doing Munnabhai MBBS, they did come to me and say (Sanjay) Dutt saab had agreed to do it. But because I was attached to SRK’s company, I said my dates will be decided by him if he is doing Munnabhai I will do it. But once that incident happened with SRK, and I was out of his movies, I dared to make the choices I did. I do not want to judge SRK or what happened then… we are friends now.

-  How the whole feud was an important lesson

It’s really weird with him. Whenever he would meet me socially during those days, he’d apologise which was never taken up in the open. Never in public. He said it wasn’t right and he couldn’t tell me all his reasons for what had happened… he was awkward about it. But last year at Karan Johar party he and Gauri came up to me and they came out with a whole lot of reasons. I was like, “Really what difference does it make? Because I am the one person who didn’t hinge my career on yours!”

- Interacting with SRK now

If a filmmaker comes with an offer, then we will see how it goes. We both maintain that… but right now there are no such talks.

- On possibly working with SRK in the future

She sure doesn’t mince her words! Wonder what made her inclined to speak after so long especially when ARB is known for never speaking about her personal life to the press…guess being a Bachchan bahu made her want to set the record straight!

What do YOU think?

Our interview with the Curry Smugglers!!!

When you think of mindblashing progressive South Asian (Desi) music…think of the Curry Smugglers!!!!

We discovered the Curry Smugglers on Twitter when we were getting super bored of the same ol’ music on our iPods and it was like HALLELUJAH! CS is an hourish long podcast that features two hilarious hosts Sachin (SRB) and Paresh (PG) who bring us desi’s the best of the best in desi music.
We say “desi” music because CS cover e’rrrrrrrrrrything including your latest filmy sountracks, punjabi, new age, remixes, mashups and anything else you can think of!!
Honestly, the gap that’s been missing in good podcasts that you actually WANT to listen to has been filled by these fiiiine desi gentlemen.
Take a read below to their hilaaar interview with us and check out the link (below) of their podcast!!

——————————————————————————————————————————

Music to the Curry Smugglers is….

SRB – Stimulating! Every musical composition, whether it’s from Indian films, pop charts, rock, arabic, Asian underground, hip hop, bounce hall, classical, qawwali or jazz – they all bring out different emotions. It is in those emotions that I get carried away, at least with most of them. I’d be lying if I said I like all forms of music. But somewhere else, someone else does. That’s the beauty of music. It crosses borders and brings people together from different regions of the world. It honestly does. Artists from different parts of the world with different styles jump at the first chance to blend their music together. Their fans follow. That brings insight into each other’s cultures, which slowly leads to acceptance. If only governments of different countries came together like that, we’d be living in a better world. But they’re not, which is why I believe music truly helps breaks barriers.

PG – Music is a journey for me. I look at it from a perspective of the range of things it makes me feel. Happy, introspective, spazzy, child like, sexy… all of these things is like a rush of emotions that I really enjoy in its most compact form – a musical composition. Sachin and I both confess to having a ‘soundtrack to our lives’ and there’s almost always a song playing in my head. Since I cannot sing to save anyone’s life, or mine, I much prefer having a song playing in there. Music is joy. Period.

Why the Smugglers of Curry? What’s the story behind it?

SRB & PG – We are glued to our iPods. We always have been. Whenever we would tune in to any local radio station in the US (whether FM/AM or online) we realized quickly that they stuck to Bollywood songs and never branched out of it. Songs were on repeat all the time. They never ventured out to play UK Bhangra, or remixes by DJs, or other genres. All this topped with cheesy ads for subzi-bhaji and restaurants. This was the “Curry” they were serving. We decided to smuggle it and add our twist to it. We took it upon ourselves to put a show together. We wanted to showcase the hard work of the DJs around the globe, and bring them on the show and talk to them. We wanted to highlight other genres, other languages like Arabic and Farsi, mash ups and Punjabi. That’s how the Curry Smugglers were born.

What is on repeat on your iPod?

SRB – Mixes by NYK, Dev, A.Sen, Mazzr and Tejas. OSTs like Sajda from MNIK, Rishi Rich, Midival Punditz, Junoon (Yes. still!), Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Unplugged songs of Sonu Nigam, Kailash Kher and Atif Aslam, Sinatra, Kings of Leon, Chris Botti, etc (Yes, most of those are on repeat).

PG – Right now? 3 Idiots, DJ Dev, Absolute Impact 1, Code 2010, Karthik Calling Karthik, MNIK, Gaga, David Guetta – Gosh and that’s just a quarter of my list.

So TheMidayMasala.com is a genie and we will grant you 3 wishes, what would they be?

SRB:

  1. Be the platform for up and coming (and good) DJs and producers to get their work and dedication noticed.

  2. Get our shows aired consistently on radio stations in all major markets

  3. A date with Priyanka Chopra would be fantastic!

PG:

  1. CS becomes a major worldwide brand  :)

  2. CS becomes the standard of excellence for desi oriented shows in the Western Hemisphere

  3. I get a full head of hair back.

    1. And world peace

What is your vision with Curry Smugglers….venture into Smuggling other things?

We have short term goals and long term goals.

Short term – Stay consistent. Always keep things fresh and have themes. Aim to be always have a good and edgy show. We feel that we are very good in the iTunes and Zune podcast market right now, based on our subscription count and ratings. We want to keep it that way. We are working with retailers for merchandising ideas as well.

Long term – We are working with radio stations right now that will air our shows in some US markets. We want to get to a record label level of signing and promoting DJs who are committed to their work and be the voice for them. We are in talks with a couple of DJs from India and Dubai to do shows and concerts in the US hosted by us. Go from a show to a brand – and a good one!
