If having the widest-ever release for a mainstream Indian film wasn’t enough for Kites, now its going to have a reworked English version for select American commercial theaters for one week!

American director Brett Ratner (you might rememebr him from those ridic successful Rush Hour franchise) who oversaw the production of the film is going to be releasing Kites-The Remix in New York and Los Angeles during Memorial Day weekend (May 28th).

Reliance BIG Pictures CEO, Sanjeev Lamba explained the idea behind the two versions,

“Kites is a very important film for Reliance with a story that has international appeal. By releasing the original Hindi version and Ratner’s ‘Remix’ a week apart, we feel that we can reach the largest possible audience, including the younger demographic for whom 2+ hours is a challenge.“

The title is kinda cheesetastic but the concept is huuuuge! Reliance, Ratner & the Roshans are going to laughing aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllll the way to the bank!

Katrina Kaif kept the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India and media waiting for a good 3 hours before she arrived to collect her award for Excellence in Performing Arts.

KK’s handlers used the excuse of a “flight delay” but apparently the real reason was that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wasn’t able to attend the ceremony and present the award.

We can’t believe it took THREE hours to decide to accept the award from someone else!

Being honored is a big deal in itself, the presenter shouldn’t have such an impact!!

Tsk tsk. Really unprofesh.

Considered one of the most prestigious film awards, Priyanka Chopra won the National Film Award for her performance as Meghna Mathur in Fashion!

Imran Khan put a ring on his girlfriend of 5 years, Avantika Malik daughter of TV18′s executive Vandana Malik in front of 300 guests including Karan Johar, Kunal Kapoor and Aamir Khan at Malik’s farmhouse in Kajrat.

Imran wore a black bandgala sherwani designed by Karan Johar and Varun Bahl and Avantika wore a blue Varun Bahl lehenga as the Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na slipped a ring which he designed onto his lady’s finger.

Imran also gifted AM a red Volkswagen Beetle with the license plate being a combination of their birthday. How adorable!

P.S. Missing from the celebration was IK’s bff Ranbir Kapoor. Sources say that since RK was Avantika’s ex (they dated for 5 years!) he opted out of attending to avoid any awkwardness. Good call?
