Ram Gopal Varma held a press conference for his new film Rann which is a commentary on the media through different characters such as an investigative journalist, a media baron, politicians and ordinary citizens.

Amitabh Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Neetu Chandra, and Gul Panag attended the press meet to discuss their roles in the film and working with RGV.

RGV clarified that the film isn’t about media bashing (even though he has tense relations with the media folk over the years with his directorial ventures),  “I expose the media by showing its true colours…the pressures, problems and complexities in running a 24 hour news channel.”

We saw the poster and got really excited!! Gul Panag and Ranvir Shorey FINALY team up for something that looks like it will be cutesy and funny!

The film is directed by Rajat Kapoor who played the cool uncle in Dil Chahta Hai and the creepy uncle in Monsoon Wedding.  And of course since its a Pritish Nandy produced film, we got some high expectations!!

The film is having its red carpet premiere at the South Asian International Film Festival (Oct 28-Nov 3) in NYC so we can expect the film to hit theatres in a few months.

Can’t WAIT for the TRAILERRRRRRRR!
