So as July rolls around so does the Monsoon season. And nothing says baarish has come than some warms cups of chai and pakoras! Yumm. But more than that, our Indian films have personified that rain = romance. Over the years there have been many songs written to symbolize how the rain revitalizes nature in terms of love and all that other mushyness.

5. Tum Se Hi from Jab We Met
The chemistry between Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor was just electrifying, but unfortunately near the completion of the film they ended their 4 year relationship.
The lyrics of the song really personify the feeling of being surrounded by your special someone.

4. Taal Se Taal Mila from Taal
One of Aishwarya Rai’s best films where she ACTUALLY showed emotion (!) and looked pretty as well hehe. Acclaimed director Subhash Ghai really created a masterpiece.
From the beginning part of the song where you hear the raindrops to the very end, AR Rahman truly captured the spirit of love in the rain.

3. Leja Leja from Ustad Ali Khan and Shreya Ghosal

Ok, so we cheated a bit. This song isn’t from a movie, but rather from the album titled Ustad and The Divas.
Leken, most of it featured dancing, running and getting soaked in the rain so we had to include it! Oh and how amazing does Shreya sound!?

It was Kunal Khemu’s (he’s related to Aamir Khan) debut film, not many watched it but EVERYONE agreed it boasted one the top music albums of 2005.
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan truly sung from the depths of his heart and the song was beautifully shot in the rain.
