Despite what everyone said about “Saif’s acting could be better” or “It’s so unrealistic! People don’t have just clean happy breakups” or “Saif is NOT a Sardar!” blah blah blah.

THIS was one of the best films to really understand the progression of relationship of today’s generation!

From the meet-cute to the getting-to-know-each-other to the saying-I-Love-You-without-actually-saying-it to the eventual separation, we guarantee that every cinemagoer could relate to at least one aspect of Jai & Meera’s prem kahani!

The higlight of the film was  2 specific things; the flashback of Veer’s love story and Jai’s time in San Francisco. Not only was Saif Ali Khan so convincing as the young gabroo sardar Veer, he was able to emote with such electricity Jai’s enthusiasm and downward spiral at Golden Gate Inc.

BUT, let’s give the credit where it’s really due- director Imtiaz Ali for seamlessly melding the kal and aaj so beautifully.

So our verdict: WATCH IT.

And of course if you are still iffy about whether you should go see the film or not (which is crazy because you should!)…

There are alot of rumours swirling about the identity of the pretty young thing who plays young Veer’s (Rishi Kapoor) lady love in Love Aaj Kal.

It is actually a 19 year-old Brazilian girl by the name of Giselle Monteiro, who Director Imitiaz Ali believed was the perfect fit for that ” 1965 ki gali mein rehne wali ladki, purane zamane ki.”

She was absolutely perfect for the role!

But we have to admit that watching her struggle with the emotions/dancing in Thoda Thoda Pyaar it just goes to show that maybe the adaa of desi girls is innate.. hehe.

Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone are pictured above at LAK’s premiere at PVR Gurgaon last night! The animal-print pink dressing is kinda growing on us…

It’s turning out to be a maha-war between Kaminey’s Dhan Te Nan and Love Aaj Kal’s Twist trying to grab that #1 spot!!

We love both and just like parents can’t choose a favourite child (!) we can’t either!!

It’s like an Ayn Rand love-story in many ways..it’s like the Fountainhead. It’s like two people are on a path and love defines the path. Deepika Padukone graces the July 2009 issue of Vogue India in a Dolce and Gabbana floral dress from their Spring/Summer 2009 collection.

As Imitiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal is set to hit theatres in a few months, we can definitely expect DP to be gracing many many many more covers.

However, just one question, why did Vogue India put her in a dress from the past season, they ARE Vogue so we were expecting something from Fall/Winter 2009.
